WANTED: GOOD STORIES ABOUT VIRGINIANS AND THEIR HORSES

In a meeting today, we were asked why we had pictures of English steeplechasers on this blog. The answer was simply because those photos are available to us and we think they are kind of cool.

The important part of the answer was the “available to” as we can only publish what we can find.

Many of you have great stories about your horses or yourself, but we can’t publish what we don’t know!

As we have a small staff here at the VTA, we don’t have somebody out in the field collecting information.  That said, PLEASE feel free to send us an email  (VTA@vabred.org) or give us a call with any story you may have about your horse – it doesn’t matter if he or she is a stakes horse or a claimer or where it ran.  A good story is a good story if it involves Virginia horses and Virginia horsemen.

Also, It doesn’t have to be a Va-bred. If you are a Virginia owner/breeder or horsemen we are interested in any story you have.

This summer we plan to have an intern or two who will help us collect, write and publish these stories, but let’s get a jump on things by starting now:  Send us a story about your horse or just a few sentences and we will get in touch to fill the blanks and see if we can put together a story for the blog.  Pictures always help.

Finally, we also would like to start supplementing “VIRGINIA-BRED WINNERS” with win photos, so next time your Va-bred wins, email or mail us a copy of the win picture.

Thanks and don’t hesitate to contact us with questions.
