WAGERING CONTINUES TO DECLINE

Wagering on Thoroughbred racing was down almost $77 million, or 7.78 percent, in November compared to the same month in 2009. About $906.3 million was wagered in November 2010.
According to monthly figures released by Equibase, wagering year-to-date was down 7.2 percent to $10.7 billion, from $11.6 billion year-to-date in 2009.
For the month, U.S. purses were down 8.45 percent, while they were down 6.2 percent year-to-date.

The figures include this year’s Breeders Cup.
