Virginia-bred Wins Second Stakes in a Row

Blueskiesnrainbows, a game second in the Breeders’ Cup Marathon in November, lodged his second straight stakes win in the Grade II San Pasquale on Saturday afternoon. The son of English Channel won the Grade III Native Diver at Hollywood Park on December 14.

Bred by Ned Evans and campaigned by Bad Boy Racing LLC and Whizway Farms, Blueskiesnrainbows won the Grade II Swaps Stakes as a 3-year-old and has been a regular presence in California stakes races since. The 5-year-old is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer.

Blueskiesnrainbows broke from the gate in his customary front-runner’s position in the 1 1/16-mile San Pasqual. With Martin Pedroza in the irons, the Virginia-bred led wire-to-wire to win by a 1 1/4 lengths. Majestic Harbor and Drill filled out the trifecta.
