…or horse people really are crazy. (Some, more than others.)

Here’s a great video of the 4th running of Hayes Golden Button Challenge sent us by Mike Pearson. The race is an old fashioned point-to-point conducted on New Year’s Eve in South Gloucestershire, England over a three mile course.

Grand National-winning jockey Paul Carberry on Blaze Ahead won the race, but they had to work hard to beat Zoe Gibson on Piper and Dougie Gittins on Bono.

We chuckled when a rider fell at the opening fence only to remount quickly and keep going, prompting the announcer to note that “all that time in the pony club was not put to waste.”
