Christopher Progno’s Virginia-bred Rollicking Affair upset the $100,000 H.B.P.A. Stakes at Presque Isle on Saturday, September 26. By Black Tie Affair (IRE) out of What A Rollick by Rollicking, the four-year-old mare salekd the early pace and then rallied on the turn to win by 3 ½ lengths over Little B Rosson. Kelowna (IRE), the second-favorite, finished third.

Rollicking Affair was bred by Dresden Farm. She paid $33.80 to her backers. She covered the one and seventy yards in 1:40.1.

Talk about a “horse for a course,” Rollicking Affair is clearly a fan of the synthetic surface at Presque Isle where she has made 15 of her career 16 starts. In her one start at Mountaineer, Rollicking Affair was seventh, but in fifteen Presque Isle starts she has six wins, three seconds and two thirds – 11 in the money finishes out of 15 starts.

To date she has won $231,269 and was recently second in the $100,000 Windward Stakes at Presque Isle back in July.
