Battle of Hastings (pictured below) has been installed as a 2-1 favorite among 10 3-year-olds entered in fifth running of the $500,000 Colonial Turf Cup Gr.2T at Colonial Downs on Saturday, June 20.

The early second choice at 3-1 is Take the Points, one of two horses entered by trainer Todd Pletcher. Take the Points, who finished 13th in the Preakness, will be ridden by Garrett Gomez.

The third pick at 7-2 is Lime Rickey, who has finished out of the money just once in 10 grass starts. Julien Leparoux, the top money rider of 2009, will direct Lime Rickey for trainer Frank Alexander.

Edgar Prado, with a trio of Virginia Derby wins under his belt, will ride Rescue Squad for trainer Claude McGaughey III, while jockey Corey Nakatani will direct Mark S The Cooler for conditioner Doug O’Neill.
Also in the field is another Pletcher trainee, Al Khali, ridden by jockey Kent Desormeaux. Rounding out the field is Straight Story, Final Count, Winning Vow and Dover Street Art, trainer O’Neill’s second horse.

The Turf Cup card also features the $150,000, Gr.3 All Along Breeders’ Cup Stakes and the $50,000 Buckland Stakes. Twelve horses entered the All Along and a full field of fourteen entered the Buckland.

All totaled, 141 horses are in to race Saturday at Colonial Downs.

New York-bred I Lost My Choo returns to Virginia for the All Along after winning the 2008 $200,000 Virginia Oaks Gr.3 on last year’s Virginia Derby card.

This year, she has won the Gr. 3 Honey Fox at Gulfstream and the restricted Mt. Vernon at Belmont.
Her 11 opponents include Indescribable, a three-time winner at the Gr. 3 level, and Winter View, winner of the Gr. 3 Bewitch at Keeneland last time out.
