Be sure to tune in to the Firecracker Stakes at Mountaineer on Wednesday, July 2. Virginia-bred Wardelle and Virginia-owned Miss Mischief will both line up for the $75,000 mile turf contest.

Miss Mischief, at 8/1 on the morning line, will go into the two-hole on the back of a fourth-placed allowance finish at Belmont. The daughter of Into Mischief is owned by Virginian Dianne Manning and trained by Steve Asmussen. A three-time winner out of nine starts, the 4-year-old won the Pearl City Stakes at Aqueduct in November of last year. Out of the Lemon Drop Kid mare Kid Majic, the bay miss is an earner of over $150,000.

Wardelle, a daughter of Toccet out of the Bertrando mare Toe In The Water, goes to post on the back of a fifth-placed effort in the Dashing Beauty Stakes at Delaware Park in early June. A 14-time winner, the 8-year-old Audley-bred hit a career high in September of last year, winning the Pink Ribbon Stakes at Charles Town. Trained by Scott Lake and owned by Romar LLC, the bay mare enters the fourth post position on Wednesday and goes to post at 10/1. She is an earner of almost $400,000.
