SECRETARIAT DIRECTOR WALLACE, WRITER NACK AT NEWSEUM IN D.C.

Director Randall Wallace will talk about his new movie  Secretariat,  starring Diane Lane and John Malkovich, at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. this Saturday. Joining Wallace is sports journalist Bill Nack, author of the book Secretariat: The Making of a Champion, on which the Disney movie is based.

Wallace wrote the Academy Award-winning movie Braveheart and the blockbuster Pearl Harbor. He also wrote, directed and produced the critically acclaimed We Were Soldiers and The Man in the Iron Mask. Wallace received the Writers Guild of America Award for best original screenplay for his work on Braveheart.
Nack wrote about sports, politics and the environment at Newsday before joining the staff of Sports Illustrated in 1978. Since leaving SI in 2001, he has freelanced for numerous publications, including GQ and ESPN.com. He served as an adviser for Secretariat.
