"OFF TO THE RACES" DEBUTS AT NEW TIME

From left to right, “Derby Bill” Watson, Mike Barone, Mitchell Bradley and Nick Hahn broadcast “Off to the Races”
on Kentucky Derby Day 2011 at Finn McCools in Richmond, VA.

There’s a new schedule for live racing at Colonial Downs, so there is a new time for “Off to the Races” on the Virginia Racehorse Network.  With Colonial now racing on Friday and Saturday evenings, we’ve moved our post time.  Tune in Fridays at 6:00 pm on ESPN AM 950 in Richmond (WXGI).  “Off to the Races” launches its 15th season of horse racing radio with a live remote from Major Willy’s in Richmond’s Shockhoe Bottom.

This Friday, Nick will have live reports from Churchill Downs tracking the connections of Virginia-bred Bodemeister, Done Talking, (Sheldon Russell, Hamilton Smith) and Dullahan (Jerry Crawford, Dale Romans, Kent Desormeaux) who has the same interests as 2010 “Twin Turf” sensation Paddy O’Prado.

Live reports from Churchill Downs begin as early as 3 pm when “Hardly Workin’ with Greg Burton” (stand in host Matt Josephs while Greg is in Europe) precedes “Off to the Races.”  “Off to the Races” can be heard online at espn950am.com.
