Virginia equine attorney, Bruce R. Smith, will offer a free one hour seminar entitled
Legal Issues Affecting Horse and Farm Owners at Tri-County Feeds on Saturday, march 13, 2010 at 2:00 pm.

Topics to be discussed include landowners’ legal duties, liability prevention, preventing and respond to trespassing, boarding and lease arrangements, LLC’s and other equine business forms, relevant tax law changes and zoning and environmental issues affecting farm owners.

Attendees will have an opportunity to have their questions answered by an experienced attorney.

Smith is a popular speaker and has been a presenter at various horse conferences including Equine Extravaganza and the National Equine Law Conference. At this year’s National Equine Law Conference in Lexington, Kentucky in late April he will be presenting on Fraud in Equine Sale Transactions.

Smith has his own law practice located in Fairfax County. He is a horse owner himself and for over fifteen years he has represented horse farms, breeders, riders and trainers in racing, showing and a variety of other equine pursuits.
