EQUINE ARTISTS SUPPORTING THOROUGHBRED CHARITIES

The Virginia Equine Artists Association’s (VEAA) inaugural Celebrating the Horses of Virginia exhibition opened its digital doors February 1, 2009 at http://www.blogger.com/www.veaa.org/art. Featuring the work of twelve talented Virginia artists, this year-long show promotes an appreciation for equestrian themed artwork, while supporting non-profit organizations in the Commonwealth that play an integral role in the equine industry.

To achieve the VEAA’s goal to support non-profit equestrian o rganizations, Celebrating the Horses of Virginia artists will donate twenty percent of this exhibit’s sale proceeds directly to each purchaser’s choice of the Equine Rescue League, Leesburg; the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, James River Chapter, Goochland; or Hoofbeats Therapeutic Riding Center, Lexington.

Artists participating in this year’s Celebrating the Horses of Virginia exhibit include Diane Bird, Lexington; Wilma Bradner, Richmond; Marcia Cronan, Delaplane; David Everette, Richmond; Elaine Hurst, Port Republic; Renae Major, Richmond; Marion Mercer, Arlington; Kristen Queen, Buckingham; Mary Shira, Churchville; Debby Thomas, Manakin-Sabot; Kristin Waters Wise, Greenville; and Linda Leah Wolitz, Henrico.

As artwork sells during the year, the artists will replace their sold works with new pieces so the gallery at http://www.blogger.com/www.veaa.org/art will always offer an extensive selection of quality equestrian art for viewing and purchase. The Celebrating the Horses of Virginia online exhibit will be open to the public through January 31, 2010.
