EIGHTY-EIGHT VA-BRED YEARLINGS ENTERED IN KEENELAND SEPTEMBER

When the varous committees are trying to figure out the best way to design the programs of the Virginia Breeders Fund, a frequently asked question is “how many Va-bred yearlings are sold at auction?”

This year it looks like the answer will be approximately 136 when you add up all the yearling sales. That will probably work out to around 40% of the 2008 Virginia-bred foal crop, and that is a substantial percentage.

Here is the list of Va-bred yearlings catalogued in the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
