(From CLN) Tailgating rail spaces for the inaugural running of the Dogwood Classic races will go on sale to the general public beginning November 26th at a discount price with an additional 24 hour “Cyber Monday” bonus offer.

Colonial Downs will host the Dogwood Classic, an afternoon of steeplechase races and tailgating, on Saturday April 6th, 2013. The races will take place over the Secretariat Turf Course and tailgating will take place around the entire 1 ¼ mile outer track.

Reserved vehicle tailgating spots in three different price levels will be available at an early bird 25% discount from Cyber Monday thru January 31st. Each spot is 15’ wide and 25’ deep, is located along the track’s inner rail and also includes Dogwood Classic admission for all passengers. A 25% discount will also be offered in the general admission tailgating area, located in the first turn area outside of the dirt track.

Other friends wishing to join a tailgate must purchase a vehicle pass, which gets them entry into Colonial Downs’ main parking lot and into the races. Vehicle passes also go on sale Cyber Monday at the reduced rate of $100.

Anyone who purchases on Cyber Monday itself, from 12:01 AM thru Midnite, can get a free vehicle pass or passes, based on the number of tailgate rail spots they secure. Customers that purchase two rail spots will get one free carload pass. Those that buy three rail spots will get two free carload passes and those that buy  4 rail spots get a choice of three free carload passes or one free bus pass.

Ticket purchases can be made at or by calling 804-966-7223, ext. 1073.
