Brilliant Speed surprised many in winning Saturday’s well-balanced field of the $750,000 Toyota Bluegrass Stakes at Keeneland.  A familar foe to King Congie from the Gulfstream Park turf in the spring, Brilliant Speed turned the tables his stablemate on Keeneland’s synthetic.  Trainer Thomas Albertrani (King Congie) was quoted after the race as considering the Preakness for his next start and then back on the turf either the Virginia Derby or Secretariat Stakes.  Of course, Albertrani has the Kentucky Derby in mind for Brilliant Speed.
