He writes: Forget about Rachel Alexandra vs. Zenyatta. At least, for now.

Maybe it’s time to start thinking that the race of the year could very well be Zenyatta, the best female horse in training, against the best male horse in training.
Right now, that would be Quality Road.

The 4-year-old colt, who chewed up his competition in two races in Florida over the winter, will make his first start since February today in the 117th running of the Grade I, $500,000 Met Mile at Belmont Park.

“We would love to see him run against Zenyatta at some point,” Quality Road’s trainer, Todd Pletcher, said. “We have a tremendous amount of confidence in this horse, that’s what makes it exciting.”
