River Gal Captures Jamestown Stakes At Laurel; Trainer/Owner Bonus Awards For 2018 Series Announced

Congratulations to Virginia owner/breeder Morgan’s Ford Farm, whose 2 year old bay filly River Gal won the $75,000 Jamestown Stakes September 28th at Laurel.

Jockey Angel Cruz directed the 2 1/2 length victory in a field of seven. The race, originally scheduled for turf, was contested at 5 1/2 furlongs on dirt and was authored in 1:05.43. The winner took the lead from  Ready to Run in the turn, opened by 1 1/2 at the top of the stretch and cruised home. River Gal is a Phil Schoenthal trainee and is by Blame out of River Fancy by Congaree.
