ADW Licenses Conditionally Approved at Friday’s Racing Commission Meeting

 

The licenses of the four ADW companies that do business in Virginia were conditionally approved for renewal as of January 1, 2015 during Friday’s Virginia Racing Commission meeting.

Twin Spires, TVG, Xpress Bet and Colonial’s EZ Play currently are licensed to take wagers from residents of Virginia. The licenses will renew as long as the companies are current with their statutory payments to the Horsemen’s purse account, Breeder’s Fund and the Virginia Racing Commission.

On December 3, the pricey Virginia-bred Hanalei Hailey broke her maiden at Tampa Bay for current connections Stonestreet and Biagi Thoroughbreds. The daughter of Malibu Moon out of the Valid Appeal mare Miz United States was a $160,000 September yearling for breeders Hart Farm. The classy filly caught renowned pinhooker Nick De Meric’s eye, and went through the ring as a 2-year-old for $625,000.

Reminder: Register your VA-bred by Dec. 31

Don’t forget: Register your Virginia-bred before December 31 to avoid additional  fees!

To register a Virginia-bred horse, an applicant must submit to the VTA by the Dec. 31 deadline the following:

A completed and signed application form for each horse to be registered. Click here for the Virginia Bred Thoroughbred Online Form.

Morgan’s Ford Farm, Susan Cooney Breed Weekend Winners

Two Virginia-breds gave their breeders a reason to be thankful over the Thanksgiving weekend.

At Laurel on Thanksgiving day, Susan Cooney’s homebred Made Bail followed up on his October maiden win with a 5-length allowance score.
