September 30th Is Commonwealth Day at Laurel Park

Get ready and come join us for Virginia’s biggest day of flat racing at Laurel Park on September 30th. The exciting card includes five Virginia-bred stakes: the Jamestown Stakes, 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf for two-year-olds; the Oakley Stakes, 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf for three-year-old and up fillies; the Punch Line Stakes, 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf for three-year-olds and up; the Brookemeade Stakes, 1 1/8 miles on the turf for three-year-old and up fillies; and the Bert Allen Stakes, 1 1/8 miles on the turf for three-year-olds and up.

Three graded stakes are also carded that day. The $150,000 Gr. 3 Commonwealth Oaks going 1 1/8 miles on the turf for three year old fillies; the $200,000 Gr. 3 Commonwealth Derby for three-year-olds going 1 1/8 miles on the turf; and the $200,000 Gr. 2 Baltimore/Washington International Turf Cup for three-year-olds and up going on mile on the turf.
